Health insurance (die Krankenversicherung)

All students enrolled at a German university are required by German law to have health insurance coverage. Students may choose, in most cases, to be insured either privately or by the state. Written proof confirming your health insurance coverage (die Krankenversicherungsbescheinigung) is required for enrollment.

No proof of health insurance = no enrollment

Accident Insurance (die Unfallversicherung)

As a student you will be insured by state or by a private institution. Please read for further information here: Unfallversicherung

Liability Insurance

For enrolled students of the JLU, of the University of Applied Sciences in Gießen as well as in Fulda the Studentenwerk contracted liability insurances. You are therefore automatically liability insured. A leaflet regarding liability insurances or forms in case of claim are available in our office, department Beratung und Service.
