ASV/Int.l Referat

The ASV stands for Ausländische Studierendenvertretung and is responsible for the representation of international students.

In addition to representation through ASTA, international students at the Justus-Liebig University Gießen, the University of Applied Sciences Gießen-Friedberg and the University of Applied Sciences Fulda are also represented by a seperate department known as the Ausländische Studierendenvertretung (ASV), the Internationalitäts-Referat and the Referat für Internationales, respectively.

As can be expected, the JLU Gießen ASV and both the Internationale Referate in Fulda and Gießen-Friedberg concern themselves with issues commonly encountered by international students, such as financial difficulties or questions regarding residency in Germany. They also offer counseling, support for integration into the German culture and even occasionally organize social events and activities.
