Tandem-Partner Programs
What is a Tandem-Partner Program?
A tandem-partner program is, in essence, a program of give and take. Two students, each with a different native language, are teamed up and work together with one another to improve their foreign language skills. You teach your native language to your partner while your partner teachs their native language to you. All this takes place in a casual manner and setting (i.e. outside of the classroom) on your own time. You and your partner are in control, this means you determine what your conversation topics are, what you do, where you go and when you meet. Important, however, is a symbiotic relationship; both students should profit equally from the partnership.
More information about how to acquire a tandem partner can be found on your respective university.s webpage, please see below for links.
