Transcripts/Credits received (Bescheinigung über Studienleistungen/Scheine)
Following the completion of each semester, it is important to obtain your .Scheine. from your university. A Schein, issued by your professors, is a certificate that verifies your enrollment and participation in a particular course at the university. On your Schein you will find listed your achieved grade, not unlike a university transcript. Unlike university transcripts however, your Scheine are generated individually, meaning you will need to collect a Schein for each course you were enrolled in (and completed academic work for) while here at the university from your course.s respective professor.
Please contact your professors, or individuals responsible for issuing your grades, in a timely fashion to determine how and when your German Scheine will be issued to you. In the event you are an exchange student here for one or two semesters, it is your responsibility to obtain all necessary documents verifying your academic achievements in Germany for your home university.
Certificate verifying practical training
Have you completed an internship or worked at an establishment during your stay here in Germany? If so, you can request a certificate, a sort of letter of reference, called a Zeugnis from your employer. A Zeugnis confirms and explains your duties and length of employment at a particular establishment. Simply ask your employer if they would be willing to issue you one.
A useful Tipp: The Zeugnis is standard throughout Germany. Therefore, your employer will most likely not have any problems issuing you such a certificate.
